What is PRP Treatment for Hair and How is it Applied?
PRP Treatment (Platelet Rich Plasma = Platelet Rich Plasma) application is a treatment that is frequently used in skin and hair regeneration and its effectiveness has been proven by scientific studies.
When any part of our body is damaged, for example, when our hand is cut, or when there is damage inside a blood vessel, cells in the blood called platelets (platelets are also called platelets, or even blood platelets) quickly reach the damaged area. These cells immediately clot and stop the bleeding. They not only stop the bleeding but also allow the tissue to heal and regenerate. The tissue regenerating properties of platelets are thanks to a protein called growth factor. It is these proteins called growth factors that play a leading role in PRP application.
In hair PRP application, the growth factors in our body are collected and injected into the areas where hair loss or hair problems are observed. The aim of hair PRP is to stop hair loss, strengthen weak hair and ensure that dormant hair follicles enter the growth phase.
How is PRP Treatment Applied in Hair?
First, some blood is taken from the person with special PRP kits.
Platelets are separated from the blood. The resulting platelet-rich plasma is drawn into syringes
It is applied to the problematic areas with successive injections.
In our clinic, not only injection but also other different methods are applied to increase the effectiveness and speed of hair PRP treatment:
- First of all, thousands of microchannels are opened with the device called dermapen. In this way, PRP is delivered more effectively under the skin. And this application alone accelerates hair growth
- Subcutaneous injections are then made with fine-tipped needles
- At the last stage, the PRP is completely absorbed from the skin surface with the electroporation device, also called needle-free mesotherapy. This application also acts as a massage, which reduces redness and provides relief.
Are There Any Side Effects of PRP Treatment for Hair?
In hair PRP treatment, proteins called growth factors in the person's own blood are used. Since the person's own blood is used, it is said that PRP has no expected side effects. However, one of the sine qua non for a PRP treatment with high effect and low side effects is the quality of the PRP kit used.
PRP kits approved by the Ministry of Health and international quality standards should be used. Otherwise, side effects are inevitable.

Why Should I Have PRP Treatment?
One of the biggest causes of hair loss is that the hair follicles are not sufficiently nourished and therefore the hair follicles enter the resting phase.
With hair PRP, it is possible to accelerate the blood flow in the vessels that nourish the hair follicles and stimulate the hair follicles with growth factors to ensure the transition from the resting phase to the growth phase.
For this reason, hair PRP is one of the most preferred methods for people with hair loss problems. Hair PRP application can also be used before or after hair transplantation (1 week before the operation, at least 3-4 days after the operation): It can be applied to strengthen the donor area before hair transplantation, to accelerate circulation in the area to be transplanted; After the operation, it can be applied to accelerate healing and support growth.
