Acne - Scar Treatment
Skar; In English, "scar" means scar. Due to any damage, our skin repairs itself and scar formation can be observed during this process. Most of the time these scars are superficial and disappear completely after a certain period of time. However, in some cases, the lower layers of the skin are affected and it is not possible for them to disappear on their own.
The cause of scarring is physical injuries and often acne/acne.
Acne / acne problem is a problem that many people face at some point in their lives.
of acne observed on the skin has the possibility of leaving permanent scars.
Early treatment of acne is the most important measure to alleviate the risk of scarring.
In treatment planning; the causes, types and degree of acne/acne scars are taken into consideration.
How Does Acne / Pimple Occur?
The pores in the skin become blocked due to sebum (oil) and dead cells, then bacteria settle in this area, become inflamed and the structures we call acne/pimples appear.
The inflammation and redness caused by acne cause tears in the skin. The larger the size of the acne and the later it is treated, the more likely it is to leave permanent scars on the skin.
Acne/pimple scars are basically divided into two: cleoid/ hypertrophic scars and atrophic scars.
Hypertrophic / Keloid Scars; creates bumps on the skin. When the skin is damaged, it repairs itself and collagen, the building block of the skin, is produced. However, in some cases, more collagen is produced than necessary and this leads to the formation of soft red bumps.
If it's atrophic scars; scars that form pits in the skin due to tissue loss. This time too, not enough collagen was produced. Atrophic scars are divided into subtypes such as ice pick scar (v-shaped), boxcar (u-shaped with flat bottom), rolling scar (round scars).
Sometimes acne/pimple formation can cause a difference in skin color. Some people may have darkening, while others may have red scars. These scars are much easier to treat. Sometimes they resolve on their own.
How to Treat Acne / Acne Scars?
In our clinic, we can list the methods we use in acne / acne - scar treatment as follows:
Mesotherapy : Mesotherapy application; It provides direct delivery of the necessary substances to the problematic area. It is safer and more effective as it is not a body-wide application. In the treatment of acne/pimples and other scars; mesotherapy containing substances such as peptides, hyaluronic acid, vitamins, antioxidants and minerals that provide skin regeneration, color balance and skin integrity is injected under the skin. In this way, the skin repairs itself. The renewed skin gains a smoother and younger appearance.
Dermapen : Dermapen application, one of the best friends of mesotherapy, shows its effect by damaging the subcutaneous tissue with tiny needles at the same time. This damage alone activates the repair mechanism of the skin, but when applied together with mesotherapy, it increases the effectiveness by providing better absorption of mesotherapy products under the skin.
Golden Needle : Acne - scar treatment is possible with the golden needle method, which provides skin regeneration by damaging only the subcutaneous layer without damaging the upper layer of the skin. The number of sessions is determined according to the type and degree of acne scar. More effective results are obtained when combined with mesotherapy.
Botox : Sometimes acne or other scars can cause wrinkling of the surrounding tissue. In such cases, Botox applications around the scar make these scars less prominent. Since the effect of Botox is temporary, it may need to be repeated at intervals of 4-6 months.
