After Long Hair FUE hair transplant The process is a rare experience in plastic surgery. While classic transplant patients see red spots, scabs and a swollen face when they look in the mirror, you see your completed, combable and long hair the moment you leave the operation. ToggleUnshaven (long) transplantation is a procedure that requires care discipline as well as comfort. The long hairs should not get tangled, the roots should not be displaced and the famous “Shock Shedding” phase should be managed correctly. In this guide, we will explain what awaits you from the moment you get up from the operation chair, day by day, week by week.
The First 24 Hours: Golden Rules (Critical Period)
You are out of surgery, your hair looks great. You may want to take a selfie and share it immediately, it is your right. However, biologically, those roots are like saplings that have not yet “stuck to the soil”. Especially because they are long, the risk of getting stuck somewhere is higher than with short transplantation.
- No Contact Do not run your hand through your hair. Do not try to straighten long hair.
- Clothing Wear clothes with zippers or buttons. When taking off a T-shirt or sweater, there is a high risk of rubbing against your hair and this can dislodge the long root.
- Sleep Position: The first night you should sleep on your back at a 45 degree angle (with two pillows). It is vital that your hair does not touch the pillow. Using a neck pillow (travel pillow) saves lives.
Washing Ritual After Long Hair FUE
In conventional cultivation, the washing process is relatively easy. However care after long hair transplantation it needs a little more delicacy. Because there are 3-5 cm of hair on the roots, and these can pull the root down when it gets heavy with water.
On Day 3, you should follow these steps for the first wash at our clinic or at home:
- Lotioning Apply the moisturizing lotion with “patting” movements, without tugging the hair. Leave on for 45 minutes.
- Rinsing Do not run the water directly. Use a bowl to gently run the warm water.
- Shampooing Lather the medical shampoo in your hand and apply with tampon movements. Never rub or rub.
- Drying Do not use a towel. Dehumidify with a paper towel or dry remotely with the cold setting of a blow dryer.
- Scanning (FORBIDDEN): Never comb your hair when it is wet. Just gently guide it with your hand and let it dry.
Recovery Calendar: Honeymoon and Separation Period
The psychological process of Long Hair FUE is different from other methods. Here is the journey that awaits you:
| Period | Name. | What will you experience? |
|---|---|---|
| Week 1 - Week 4 | Honeymoon Period | Your hair is long, thick and shaped. No one will know you have had a procedure. You are at the peak of your social life. The scabs are hidden under the long hair. |
| Week 4 - Week 8 | Shock Spill | Those long hairs suddenly start to fall out. This is an expected process. The roots remain alive inside, only the “hair shaft” above it is discarded. Don't panic. |
| 3rd - 4th month | Awakening | Fine, baby hairs (villi) begin to grow from the shedding sites. |
| 6th - 12th month | Lasting Result | Hair becomes thicker, thicker and takes the form of a lifetime. Now you can comb and cut it as you like. |
Why Shock Spillage Occurs?
Sometimes our patients are upset, “I thought we planted long hair, why did it fall out?” Remember, Long Hair FUE is a “Preview” procedure. It shows you in advance what you will look like 1 year later. It is a biological necessity for the roots to go into a resting phase due to displacement (trauma). It is only the dead part that falls out, the “factory” (stem cell) is safe under the skin and makes new production.
Accelerating Recovery with Ozone Therapy
At Medlook Polyclinic, we work specifically with our Long Hair FUE patients to support the healing process. Ozone Therapy we recommend. This process, which increases the oxygen level in the tissue, both increases the adhesion rate of the roots and triggers faster hair growth after the shock shedding process. Ozone Therapy and Hair Loss You can review our detailed article about.
Prohibitions to Watch Out For
If you have had a premium procedure, you should avoid the following activities for the first 15 days to avoid risking the outcome:
| FORBIDDEN | WHAT IS THE RISK? |
|---|---|
| Hair Styling (Gel/Spray) | Chemicals can enter through open channels and poison or infect the root. (1 month) |
| Sauna / Steam Room | Excessive humidity and heat can cause long hairs to soften and slip from the root. (1 month) |
| Scratching / Playing | It is the worst enemy. If you pull off the bark with your hand, you pull the root with it. |
| Heavy Sport | May increase blood pressure and cause bleeding or risk of infection through sweating. (15 Days) |
Difference in Recovery Compared to the Classical Method
Our patients The classic method with Long Hair FUE the difference in healing between the two. Biologically, the healing time is the same (10 days of scabbing). BUT; Since long hair covers the scabs in Long Hair FUE, you live “as if there is no healing process”. When viewed from the outside, the scars of the procedure are not visible. This provides you with a “natural camouflage” and psychological comfort in social life.

Böyle bir durum tıbben çok nadirdir. Donör bölgeden alınan kökler dökülmemeye kodlanmıştır. Medlook olarak tutunma oranlarımız %95-%98 civarındadır.
In classical transplantation, it can be worn immediately, but in Long Hair FUE, long hair should not be crushed. We do not recommend a hat for the first 3-4 days. Afterwards, wide, "fisherman hats" that do not touch the top can be used.
We recommend you to use special root nourishing medical shampoos that we will give you in our clinic, which do not contain paraben and sulfate. You should stay away from market shampoos.
